Waste Pro Commits to go with Hybrid Trucks

Today at Germain Arena during the Wallace International “Ready to Roll” Event, Waste Pro, a regional solid waste services provider, formally signed an agreement to purchase two International DuraStar Hybrid chassis for use as recycling grapple trucks. These are believed to be the first ever Hybrid trucks designed for use in this application. Waste Pro Regional Vice President, Keith Banasiak signed the agreement on behalf of his company. International Trucks was represented by Mike Cicerchia and Wallace’s Sales Manager, Jim Boncosky signed on behalf of the selling dealer.
Among those in attendance for the signing were Lee County Commission Chairman, Ray Judah, State Representatives Gary Aubuchon and Garrett Richter and the Director of Keep Lee County Beautiful, Rudy Busch.
Banasiak stated that “this purchase signifies the commitment by Waste Pro to become the leader in the waste industry in performing their trucking operations with equipment that provide a positive impact on our environment and simultaneously reduce the use of imported fossil fuels. These Hybrid trucks mark the beginning of a trend that will, undoubtedly, lead to the extensive use of Hybrids in Waste Pro’s business.”

Waste Pro Receives SMART Business Award from the Association for Corporate Growth

Waste Pro was selected by the Central Florida Chapter of the national Association for Corporate Growth for the SMART (Successful, Management of Assets, Revenues and Teams) award for the top category for over $100 million in annual revenues. The judges were selected from central Florida area business leaders and the University of Central Florida Business Department and the Rollins College Crummer Graduate Business School. This award recognizes major Florida based businesses for smart growth and for their industry leadership. Waste Pro was selected from a field many of Florida’s fastest growing and top performing companies.

Waste Pro was established in 2001 and in 7 short years has grown from 5 people and 2 trucks to now employing over 1,200 people and operating over 700 trucks from twenty eight (28) locations in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Corporate management is made up of a team of waste industry professionals headed by John Jennings CEO and including Bob Hyres Executive Vice President, Don Phillips CFO and Fred Wood Senior Vice President. Waste Pro’s annualized revenues are now in excess of $200 million. Waste Pro is now the largest privately held company in its industry in the southeast United States.
